Protein folding occurs in the cellular compartment which is known as the endoplasmic reticulum. Protein Folding has four stages; (1).primary protein Folding stage,(2). secondary protein Folding stage, (3). tertiary protein Folding stage and quarternary protein Folding stage.

(1). PRIMARY PROTEIN FOLDING STAGE: In here we have a sequence of amino acids held together by peptide bonds.

(2). SECONDARY PROTEIN FOLDING STAGE: this is the stage where protein starts folding, we have the alpha helix structure and the beta pleated sheet.

(3). TERTIARY PROTEIN FOLDING STAGE: in this stage the protein is being folded into its precise 3D structure

(4). QUARTERNARY PROTEIN FOLDING STAGE: in this stage a peptide bond to other peptides, for instance in haemoglobin.
