Answer: $543.20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A computer store buys a computer system at a cost of $465.60.

The first selling price = $776

Markdown percent = 30%

Then, the Current Selling price = first selling price - 30% ( first selling price )

= 776 - 0.30 (776) [ We divide percent by 100 to convert it into decimal]

= 776 (1-0.30)   [Distributive property a(b+c)=ab+ac]

=776(0.70) = 776 x 0.70 = $543.20  [To the nearest cent]

Therefore , the current sale price = $543.20

Determine the next step for solving the quadratic equation by completing the square. 0 = –2x2 + 2x + 3 –3 = –2x2 + 2x –3 = –2(x2
VLD [36.1K]
We have that
0 = –2x²+ 2x + 3

Group terms that contain the same variable, and move the constant to the opposite side of the equation

(–2x²+ 2x)=-3

Factor the leading coefficient

-2*(x²-x)=-3

Complete the square. Remember to balance the equation by adding the same constants to each side

-2*(x²-x+0.25)=-3-0.50

Rewrite as perfect squares

-2*(x-0.5)²=-3.50

(x-0.5)²=-3.50/-2

(x-0.5)²=1.75------> square root both sides

(+/-)(x-0.5)=√7/2

(+)(x-0.5)=√7/2----> (√7/2)+0.5----> x=1.823

(-)(x-0.5)=√5/2-----> x=0.5-(√7/2)----> x=-0.823

the solutions are

x=1.823

x=-0.823

120 inches cubed (^3)

To find the volume of a rectangular prism, the formula is base area • height. We just have to solve this problem.

The two sides of the base 8 and 5.    8 • 5 = 40, so the area of the base = 40.

Then, the height is 3.    40 • 3 = 120, so the volume is 120 inches^3
