This is the concept of arithmetic, the total distance that Latasha will be from the airport will be:
distance= sum of distances traveled.
hence we shall have:
distance=80+50+40+95
=265 miles
This implies that Latasha is 265 miles off the starting point.

Answer: 60.21 miles

SOLUTION

The trip is as follows:

80 miles East

50 miles North

40 miles West

95 miles South

Since, they drove 80 miles East and 40 miles West

Total horizontal displacement = 80 – 40 (Since east and west are in opposite directions)

Total horizontal displacement = 40 miles (East)

Since, they drove 50 miles North and 95 miles South

Total vertical displacement = 95 – 50 (Since north and south are in opposite directions)

Total vertical displacement = 45 miles (South)

This forms a right angled triangle

40 miles horizontal displacement

45 miles vertical displacement

Current distance from the starting point, d = Hypotenuse of the triangle

d² = 40² + 45²

d² = 1600 + 2025

d² = 3625

√d² = √3625

d = 60.21 miles

Therefore, Latasha and Mike are 60.21 miles from the starting point.

Always remember rise over run, used to see what slopes are. In this case, rise over run would be -3/2, because the line is negative.

Help please! Liberal Arts Mathematics question
Kipish [7]

Answer:

Option C (x < -5/4)

Step-by-step explanation:

((2 - 5x)/(-3)) + 4 < -x.

Take LCM on LHS:

(2 - 5x - 12)/(-3) < -x.

Multiplying -3 on both sides (this will also flip the inequality):

-5x - 10 > 3x.

Adding 10 on both sides and subtracting -3x on both sides:

-8x > 10.

Dividing -8 on both sides (this will also flip the inequality):

x < -5/4.

Therefore, Option C is the correct answer!!!

Use complete sentences to describe the relation in terms of a function. F = {(2, 5), (3, 2) (4, 6), (5, 1), (7, 2)}?
trapecia [35]
For a group of points to be considered a function, their x - values cannot be the same.

In this case the group of points is considered a function because none of the x values are the same.

hope this helps :)
