Solution :

Equation for Malcom's family travels after t hours is d = 65 t

From the graph, equation for Theo's family travels after travels after t hours is

$d=\frac{225}{4.5}t$

$d=50 t$

For Malcom's family, speed $= \frac{d}{t}$ = 65 miles per hour

For Theo's family, speed $= \frac{d}{t}$ = 50 miles per hour

Malcom's family traveled faster than Theo's family by

        = (65-50) miles per hour

        = 15 miles per hour

You are dealt two cards successfuly without replacement from a shuffled deck of 52 playing card. Find the probability that first
katen-ka-za [31]

The simplified expression is (\frac{4}{663})

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the total number of cards in a given deck = 52

let E : Event of drawing a first card which is King

Total number of kings in the given deck = 4

So, P(E) = \frac{\textrm{The total number of king}}{\textrm{The total number of cards}} = \frac{4}{52} = (\frac{1}{13} )

Now, as the picked card is NOT REPLACED,

So, now the total number of cards = 52 - 1 = 51

Total number of queen in the deck is same as before = 13

let K : Event of drawing a second card which is queen

So, P(K) = \frac{\textrm{The total number of queen}}{\textrm{The total number of cards}} = (\frac{4}{51} )

Now, the combined probability of picking first card as king and second as queen  = P(E) x P(K)  = (\frac{1}{13}) \times(\frac{4}{51}) = (\frac{4}{663} )

Hence, the simplified expression is (\frac{4}{663})

2. what value of b makes the following equation true
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

  2. 10

  3. D.  1 for all n

Step-by-step explanation:

2. The applicable rules of exponents are ...

  (a^b)(a^c) = a^(b+c)

  a^b = 1/a^-b

__

  \dfrac{4^8}{(4^2)^{-3}}\div 4^4=\dfrac{4^8}{4^{-6}\cdot4^4}=\dfrac{4^8}{4^{-2}}\\\\=4^8\cdot4^2=4^{10}

The value of n is 10.

__

3. Using the above rules of exponents, the expression simplifies to ...

  6^(-n+n) = 6^0 = 1

The value is 1 for any n.

Answer:

All the exponents in the algebraic expression must be non-negative integers in order for the algebraic expression to be a polynomial. As a general rule of thumb if an algebraic expression has a radical in it then it isn't a polynomial
