Select the scenario that correctly represents the given graph.
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

C. The vertical distance of a roller coaster from the ground changes with respect to its horizontal distance from the beginning of the ride.

Step-by-step explanation:

See how the graph is in a "U" shape? That tells us that it first decreases and then goes back up at some point.

The way you would find this answer is to go through each scenario (A, B, C, and D) and think about which thing would make sense to go down and then up.

2. A soccer field is bordered on three sides by a parking lot of width x. The total
notsponge [240]

Answer: 50m

Step-by-step explanation:

this is the logical way I solved it:

1. Find the area of the entire area thing

300*200=60000

2. Subtract the area of the field from the area of the entire place

60000-30000=30000

3. Divide the area of the parking by three because there are three sides

30000 ÷ 3 = 10000

4. Divide 10000 by 200, not 300 because we want to find the side with one <em>x</em>, not two <em>x</em> (there are two sides adding on to the side with 300, but only one side on the side with 200)

10000÷200= 50

I know the steps are weird, but I know this is the right answer because this was on the unit test (same misspelling and everything lol) and during tutoring my teacher showed me how to do it, but of course I had to forget the steps.

What are the solutions of this quadratic equation?X2 - 10x= -34A.r=-8, -2B.r= 5 + 3iC.r=-5 + 3iD.r=-5 + 159
ololo11 [35]

The given equation is-

x^2-10x=-34

First, we move the independent term to the other side.

x^2-10x+34=0

Now, we have to use the quadratic equation to find the solutions.-

x_{1,2}=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt[]{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

Where, a = 1, b = -10, and c = 34.

Replacing these values in the formula, we have.

\begin{gathered} x_{1,2}=\frac{-(-10)\pm\sqrt[]{(-10)^2-4(1)(34)}}{2(1)} \\ x_{1,2}=\frac{10\pm\sqrt[]{100-136}}{2}=\frac{10\pm\sqrt[]{-36}}{2} \end{gathered}

But, there's no square root of -36 because it's a negative. To solve this issue, we use complex numbers that way, we would have solutions.

x_{1,2}=\frac{10\pm\sqrt[]{36}i}{2}=\frac{10\pm6i}{2}=5\pm3i<h2>Therefore, the solutions are</h2>\begin{gathered} x_1=5+3i \\ x_2=5-3i \end{gathered}The right answer is B.
