Seventeen concert tickets were sold for $550. Each adult ticket costs $9 and each children's ticket costs $5 find the number of
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

The number of adult's ticket is 50.

The number of children's ticket is 20.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that, seventy ticket were sold for $550.

Let the number of adult's ticket be x.

Then the number of children's tickets is = (70-x)

Each adult ticket cost $9.

Then the cost of x number of adult's ticket is = $9x

Each children's ticket cost $5

Then the cost of (17-x) number of children's ticket is=$5(70-x)

                                                                                     =$(350-5x)

According to the problem,

9x+(350-5x)=550

\Rightarrow 4x+350=550

\Rightarrow 4x=550-350

\Rightarrow 4x=200

\Rightarrow x=\frac{200}{4}

\Rightarrow x=50

The number of adult's ticket is 50.

The number of children's ticket is (70-50)=20

What is the surface area of this design? 5 in 5 in 6.4 in 5 in 9 in
xeze [42]

ANSWER

197 {in}^{2}

EXPLANATION

The area of the two tra-pezoidal faces

= 2 \times  \frac{1}{2}  \times (9 + 5) \times 5 = 70 {in}^{2}

The area of the 5 by 6.4 rectangular face

= 6.4 \times 5 = 32  {in}^{2}

The area of the two square faces

= 2(5 \times 5) = 50 {in}^{2}

The area of the 9 by 5 rectangular face is

= 9 \times 5 = 45 {in}^{2}

The surface area of the design is:

70 + 32 + 50  + 45=197 {in}^{2}

The equation 1.5r + 15 = 2.25r represents the number r of movies you must rent to spend the same amount at each movie store. how
EleoNora [17]
1.5r+15=2.25r
First of all, you have to arrange the numbers according to those similar to them. So that will be;
15=2.25r-1.5r
1.5r is subtracted from 2.25r because it crossed over an equality sign to get its position close to 2.25r. And when a number crosses over an equality sign, the sign on the number chages to the opposite. 1.5r has an invisible positive sign which became negative when it crossed. Anyway;
2.25r-1.5r is the same as 2.25-1.5. And that is 0.75r
  Therefore;
15=0.75r
To find out what r is, you have to divide the both sides by 0.75. This is done to remove the 0.75 close to r to finally reveal what r is. Anyway;
15/0.75=0.75r/0.75
15 divided by 0.75 is 20. And 0.75r divided by  0.75 is r. So;
20=r
r=20. So the answer is 20 movies. Hope i helped. Have a nice day.
