Which number is NOT a solution to the inequality 14n − 46 ≤ 2(7 − 8n) ?

Answer:

(a)4

Step-by-step explanation:

First you would distribute the 2 within the parentheses and it becomes 14n-46 <= 14-16n. Then you would find the smallest coeficent and do the inverse operation so you would have to add 16n to 14n and get 30n. Your equation is now 30n-46<=14. Now you want to isolate the variable by doing the inverse operation of -46. You would then add 46 to positive 14 and get 60. Your eqaution now is 30n<=60. Your last step is to divide 30 on each side which leaves you with n<=2.

2 is less than or equal to 2

-2 is less than or equal to 2

-4 is less than or equal to 2

4 is NOT less than or equal to 2 it is GREATER

Hopefully, that helps.

Using the number line shown, subtract 1 2/6 from 4 4/6.
Soloha48 [4]

Hey there!

\bold{1\frac{2}{6}-4\frac{4}{6}}

  • \bold{1\frac{2}{6}=1\frac{1}{3}=\frac{4}{3}}
  • \bold{4\frac{4}{6}=4\frac{2}{3}=\frac{14}{3}}
  • Problem becomes: \bold{\frac{4}{3}-\frac{14}{3}}
  • To solve our new problem \uparrow;\downarrow
  • \bold{4-14=-10}
  • The \bold{3's} stay the same because the same
  • \bold{\rightarrow=\frac{-10}{3}}
  • \boxed{\boxed{\bold{Answer:\frac{-10}{3} (or)=-3\frac{1}{3}}}}

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!

The width of a rectangle is 1 units less than the length. The area of the rectangle is 72 units. What is the width, in units, of
nalin [4]

A = l × w. Substitute 72 into A and fill in the rest of the equation.

w = l - 1. Plug l - 1 into w

72 = l × (l - 1). Multiply l by (l - 1)

72 = l^2 - l. Subtract 72 from each side.

0 = l^2 - l - 72. Factor.

0 = (l + 8) (l - 9). Set each term equal to zero.

(l + 8) = 0. Subtract 8 from each side.

l = -8. Length cant be a negative number so let's try the other term.

(l - 9) = 0. Add 9 to each side.

l = 9. The length is 9.

Earlier we stated that the width is one less than the length, therefore, the width is 9 - 1 = 8.

The width is 8 units.

Please helppp (had to have 20 words haha)
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

w==77

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of the 2 opposite interior angles equals the exterior angle.

w-36 +w-20=w+21

combine like terms: 2w-56=w+21

subtract w from both sides: w-56=21

add 56 to both sides: <u>w=77</u>
