Find the surface area of the cylinder in terms of pi. Height = 8 in Diameter = 4in

1) the area of the "side" of the cylinder is A1= pi (4 in).
2) the total area of the circular ends of the cyl. is A2 = 2 pi (2 in)^2 (since the radius of the cyl. is 2 in).

The desired total surface area is A = A1 + A2. Keep "pi;" do not substitute a numerical value for "pi."

A tree on a hillside casts a shadow c = 230 ft down the hill. if the angle of inclination of the hillside is b = 19° to the hori
KengaRu [80]
From a point A draw a line 19° to the horizontal representing the hill. On the hill, 230 ft from the point A, draw a vertical line.h, representing the height of the tree. From the point A, draw another line 49° to the horizontal to the top of the tree. Lastly, from the bottom of the tree, extend a vertical line (y) down to a point on the horizontal.
let x be the distance from point A to when y intersects the horizonal.
x/230=cos 19
x=230 cos 19=217.5

y/x=tan 19
y=xtan19
y=217.5 tan 19=74.88
(h+y)/x=tan 49
h+y=xtan 49=217.5tan49=250.205
hence
h=250.205-74.88=175.325 ft

the answer is:
height of the tree ~ 175 ft

The object above is symmetrical through Z. If Y = 11 inches, Z = 12 inches, and H = 7 inches, what is the area of the object?
AfilCa [17]

The area of the object with the shape of a kite having diagonals of 12 inches and 11 inches is 66in².

What is an equation?

An equation is an expression that shows the relationship between two or more variables and numbers.

Numbers (constants), variables, operations, functions, brackets, punctuation, and grouping can all be represented by mathematical symbols, which can also be used to indicate the logical syntax's order of operations and other features.

The area of kite = (product of diagonals)/2

Area of kite = (11 x 12 ) / 2 = 66 in²

The area of the object with the shape of a kite having diagonals of 12 inches and 11 inches is 66in².

The missing figure is attached with the answer below:-

In a class of 32
Alika [10]

There are 28 right handed students in class

Solution:

Given that, there are 32 students in a class

The ratio of left-handed students to right- handed students is 1 : 7

Let the number of left handed students be 1x

Let the number of right handed students be 7x

To find: Number of right handed students in school

Total number of students = 32

number of left handed students + number of right handed students = 32

1x + 7x = 32

8x = 32

x = 4

number of right handed students = 7x = 7(4) = 28

There there are 28 right handed students in class
