Let the direction are given as follows

+x = east

-x = west

+y = North

-y = South

now for the above displacement

it moves east for 5 m so it is

x_1 = 5

then goes north for 3 m

y_1 = 3

then goes west for 2 m

x_2 = -2 m

now total displacement in East or x direction

x = x_1 + x_2 = 5 - 2 = 3m

total displacement in North of Y direction

y = 3m

so final coordinates are

x = 3, y = 3

Part b)

position vector is given as

r = x\hat i + y\hat j

r = 3\hat i + 3\hat j

so the magnitude of the vector is given as

|r| = \sqrt{3^2 + 3^2}

|r| = 3\sqrt3

Mashutka [201]
-2. This is because it is gaining electrons. Electrons are negative. Therefore it is a negative charge.

Answer:

a = (v2 - v1) / t

From A to B    (8 - 4) m/s / 1 s = 4 m / s^2

From A to D    ( 7 - 4) m/s / 5 s = .6 m / s^2

Note these equations hold for "uniform" values

They say nothing about the acceleration at intermediate points - the equation just says that his average speed increased from 4 m/s to 7 m/s during a 5 sec period

A box of unknown mass is sliding with an initial speed vi = 4.70 m/s across a horizontal frictionless warehouse floor when it en
malfutka [58]

Here Change in Kinetic Energy = Work Done by Friction

Therefore, substituting the given values to the equation, we get

0.5 * m * (vFinal^2 - vInitial^2) = µ m g * d

Therefore

0.5*( 5.90^2 - Vfinal^2 ) = 0.100*9.8*2.10

Therefore

vfinal = 5.54 m/sec
