Hello there, I hope you are having a great day :) Your Question: John was swimming for an hour and a half hours at a speed of 2 miles per hour. How far did he swim? So the answer would be that 1 Hour = 2 miles and then do 1/2 hours = 2 divide 2 miles 1 and 1/2 hours = 2 + 1 Miles so 1 and 1/2 Hours = 3 miles so john swim 3 miles.

Hopefully that helps you :)

Carlotta thinks that 3y + 5y3 is the same as 8y4. Which statement shows that it is NOT the same?
egoroff_w [7]
Carlotta just needs to evaluate both expressions

Say y = 2

3y + 5y³ = 3(2) + 5(2)³ = 6 +40 = 46

8.y**4 = 8*(2)**4 = 8*(16) = 128

This means that
3y + 5y³ ≠ 8.y**4
