Describe the similarities and differences between the cytokinesis mechanisms found in animal cells versus those in plant cells.
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

Cytokinesis is the process of the cell cycle which divides the cytoplasm of the parent cell into two cells.

The process of cytokinesis involves the membrane of the cell, so the process differs in plant and animals cell as the plant cell exhibits two layers that are the cell wall surrounding the plasma membrane while animal cell lacks the cell wall. the main difference in both the process is:

1. Plant cell division-occurs by cell plate formation while animal cell division- occurs by full cleavage.

2. In-Plant cell- no cytoskeleton is involved while in animal cell- Cytoskeleton components are actively involved

3. Plant cell division is centripetal while animal cell division is centrifugal

4. Plant cell-wall formation is present while animal cell-Wall formation is absent

The similarities in both the process are that it generates the genetically identical daughter cells. In both cells, cytokinesis after the karyokinesis and is the last stage of the division.

5. Which did not result from acceptance of the germ theory?
alisha [4.7K]

Answer:

The correct option is increased death rate

Explanation:

Germ theory can be described as a scientific theory which depicts that microorganisms are the cause for many diseases which occur in humans, animals and plants. These microorganisms are known as pathogens or germs.

The formation of the germ theory led scientists to understand the pathogens involved in causing many diseases and hence scientists brought forward methods to kill the pathogens causing these diseases. Hence, the death rate did not increase after the germ theory.
