The purpose of this text is to inform the people of the Hawaii islands of the efforts to weaken the effects of climate change as he mentioned the major businesses switching to cleaner energy and he had said that he puts as much time and energy available into the matter of climate change. He uses rhetoric form of speech to intensify the sentence by using words that put across a stronger image such as when he says "Alaska, where the sea is already swallowing villages and eating away at shorelines"

Here is my OPINION/ interpretation. I may or may not be incorrect.
1). The US shouldn't sell arms (weapons) overseas because it would cause a war, and the US's goal was to stay isolated, hence the term isolationism.
Arms = weapons
Arms = body part
Selling weapons across the to Britain could cause conflicts, which could lead to war.
However, (in the first image), of they didn't sell weapons, they'd remain neutral, therefore avoiding war and its costs.
2). This cartoon MAY be trying to persuade the reader that war isn't always the solution to resolving a conflict, and that isolationism can lead to peace and unity.
Again, this is MY OPINION.

The United States finally decided to join the World War I on side of the Allies mainly because of the following 2 reasons:
* The first one was the proposal made to Mexico in order to join the war against the allies, which meant the war was getting closer to American land.
* The second one was the German submarine attacks on American merchant ships.
After these two events took place, Woodrow Wilson the American president at the time talked to the Congress and requested it to declare war on Germany. And finally the Congress declared the war on April 6th, 1917.
The correct order of the events is:
1. France colonizes Indochina;
2. France fights communist forces in Indochina;
3. France and the United States support an unpopular government in South Vietnam;
4. Vietnamese communists declare independence.;
5. France recognizes an independent North Vietnam;
France managed to colonize Vietnam, as well as other parts of Indochina in a very well planned, and gradual, systematic taking over. After some time, the nations in Indochina, including Vietnam, started to rebel against the French, thus multiple battles occurred. The forces fighting for liberation of Vietnam were mostly with a communist ideology. The French, as well as the USA, were supporting an unpopular traditional leader of Vietnam, which didn't really helped their cause, apart from managing to extend their influence in part of Vietnam a bit longer. The communist where victorious though, and they managed to gain full control of North Vietnam. The French had no other option than recognizing North Vietnam, and avoid further troubles.
I think it is number 3 set up a medical system.
