Osmosis causes water to move from areas of low salt concentration to areas of high salt concentration. The internal NaCl concent

ration of red blood cells is 0.9 M. The diagram below shows red blood cells submerged in solutions of four different NaCl concentrations—0 M, 0.65 M, 0.9 M, and 2 M. Which of the diagrams shows red blood cells in the 2 M solution?

Red blood cells normally have a biconcave shape (picture a donut, but instead of a hole through the centre there's just a downward slope to the centre of the cell). If the cell takes on water, it will increase in size and the sloped areas will start to flatten out. If the cell loses water, it will begin to shrivel. Use these observations and your understanding of osmosis to answer the question!

You haven't given us the diagrams, but in case you're asking about the shape, imagine this: a disc, with a sunken centre, starting to resemble a donut.

In a low salt solution, the cells would start to absorb water, thus, inflating, up to the point of resembling spheres, and even bursting in the end. In case of a salty solution like the one you proposed, blood cells would lose water and would become a bit amorphous. In the attached pic you can see a standard blood cell (on the left), and a cell submerged in a salty solution (on the right).

A covalent bond forms when two non- metal atoms share a pair of electrons. Substances with covalent bonds often form molecules with low melting and boiling points, such as hydrogen and water.

How can natural selection acting on one trait result in
geneticdrift of other genes?
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

The evolution of a species is driven by many evolutionary mechanisms two of which are: natural selection and the genetic drift.

The natural selection selects the species or the alleles which increase the reproductive success of the species in a given environment whereas the genetic drift cause evolution by randomly selecting the alleles based on the sampling error. The genetic drift selects the alleles or species by chance and not on the beneficial and harmful basis.

In the given question, If natural selection favours the one trait of the species on the basis if it provides fitness then it could result in a genetic drift of alleles of another trait as it is purely based on the chance.

'Cause I-I-I'm in the stars tonight

So watch me bring the fire and set the night alight

Shoes on, get up in the morn'

Cup of milk, let's rock and roll

King Kong, kick the drum, rolling on like a Rolling Stone

Sing song when I'm walking home

Jump up to the top, LeBron

Ding dong, call me on my phone

Ice tea and a game of ping pong

This is getting heavy

Can you hear the bass boom? I'm ready (woo hoo)

Life is sweet as honey

Yeah, this beat cha-ching like money, huh

Disco overload, I'm into that, I'm good to go

I'm diamond, you know I glow up

Hey, so let's go

'Cause I-I-I'm in the stars tonight

So watch me bring the fire and set the night alight (hey)

Shining through the city with a little funk and soul

So I'ma light it up like dynamite, whoa oh oh

Bring a friend, join the crowd

Whoever wanna come along

Word up, talk the talk

Just move like we off the wall

Day or night the sky's alight

So we dance to the break of dawn

Ladies and gentlemen, I got the medicine

So you should keep ya eyes on the ball, huh

This is getting heavy

Can you hear the bass boom? I'm ready (woo hoo)

Life is sweet as honey

Yeah, this beat cha-ching like money

Disco overload, I'm into that, I'm good to go

I'm diamond, you know I glow up

Let's go

'Cause I-I-I'm in the stars tonight

So watch me bring the fire and set the night alight (hey)

Shining through the city with a little funk and soul

So I'ma light it up like dynamite, whoa oh oh

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na, na-na, life is dynamite

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na, na-na, life is dynamite

Shining through the city with a little funk and soul

So I'ma light it up like dynamite, whoa oh oh

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na, ayy

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na, ayy

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na, ayy

Light it up like dynamite

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na, ayy

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na, ayy

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na, ayy

Light it up like dynamite

'Cause I-I-I'm in the stars tonight

So watch me bring the fire and set the night alight

Shining through the city with a little funk and soul

So I'ma light it up like dynamite (this is ah)

'Cause I-I-I'm in the stars tonight

So watch me bring the fire and set the night alight (alright, oh)

Shining through the city with a little funk and soul

So I'ma light it up like dynamite, whoa (light it up like dynamite)

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na, na-na, life is dynamite

Dy-na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na, na-na, life is dynamite

Shining through the city with a little funk and soul
