Which describes a difference between a positive and negative feedback loop?

Biology
1 answer:
Rudik [331]3 years ago

Answer: b. the output of a system keeps conditions within the body absolutely constant only in a negative feedback loop.

Explanation:

In the negative feedback loop, the feedback reduces the excessive response of the stimulus for example regulation of body temperature, and control of blood glucose level. In the positive feedback loop, the response of a stimulus is intensified. Example, positive feedback is the childbirth and blood clotting. According to the negative feedback loop the output of the system keeps the internal body environment constant with respect to the changes in the external environment hence, maintains the homeostasis.

The cell theory, theory of evolution, theory of natural selection, and the endosymbiotic theory are called "theories" because
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

The answer is C - Theories are supported with evidence and do explain what we see in the world (Ex: The cell theory) The evidence can change or be added on to when new evidence is found.

Explanation:

A - Theories are not hypotheses but theories start out as hypotheses. When the hypotheses gain enough evidence, they can start to become a theory, and this is after many experimentations and testings and trials and research.

B - Everyone can have theories, not just scientists. Many theories have been made on social media platforms such as r e d d i t or y o u t u b e. Some of these theories are conspiracy theories that people make based on some evidence they gather about a topic and sometimes believe is true even though it may not be true.

D - Theories are not opinions but are backed up with evidence and may have went through many trials and errors to become where it is.

E - Theories are testable ideas and scientists are always trying to make theories to be the best of what it can be. Theories have to be tested over and over again to make sure that whatever the theory is about is still valid and works.

What are the Reproductive Barriers that keep species separate?
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

C. habitat isolation; temporal isolation; behavioral isolation; mechanical isolation; gamete isolation.

Explanation:

Reproductive Barriers may be of any type which includes habitat isolation; temporal isolation; behavioral isolation; mechanical isolation; gamete isolation. All these examples are categorized under prezygotic barriers.

Habitat isolation: It occurs in case of allopatric speciation, initially all the members of a species can mate with each other but later on due to geographic barriers like due to a rift, their habitat separates and they cannot mate with each other and later on they evolve as separate species.

Temporal isolation: In temporal isolation, reproductive barrier is different time/season of breeding like American toads and Fowler's toad both are closely related and have potential to mate but due to different mating season they are unable to mate with each other. American toads mate during summers while Fowler's toad mate during late summers.

Behavioral isolation: When the members of two closely related species behave and respond to different mating behavior, it is known as behavioral isolation. For example breeding calls.

Mechanical isolation: Mechanical isolation occurs because of structural or chemical barriers. For example: when the shape of pollinator does not match with that of flower then the male gametes will not be able to reach to the egg cell.

Gamete isolation: When the gametes are unable to fuse due to any reason like less mobility of sperm in the female reproductive tract.

Give one examole of how natural selection can change the distribution of a trait?
Maurinko [17]
One example of how natural selection can change the distribution of a trait is the peppered moths during the industrial revolution. The moths were originally mainly white with a few black spots, however, when all the factories were built, the trees the peppered moths lived on turned a black color, causing ones who were mostly white to be picked off by predators, but the ones that were black with a few white spots survived and blended in better, leaving them to breed and produce more black-colored moths that would survive easily.  This shows the changing of a trait because ones that used to be mostly white were killed, showing a shift in the trait pattern in favor to the black moths that now lived instead of the white moths. (Sorry its long)
