What is the molecular geometry about nitrogen in ch3nh2?

Chemistry

In Methyl Amine the Nitrogen atom is attached to two Hydrogen Atoms and one Methyl (CH₃-) group. From Lewis structure it is shown that the Nitrogen atom also contains a lone pair of electron.
So,
According to Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion (VSEPR) Theory, those central atoms which have four electron pairs and all of them are bonding electron pairs gives Tetrahedral Geometry.

Methylamine also contains four electron pairs, but out of four only three are bonding pair electrons and one lone pair electron. Now, due to presence of lone pair of electron (which has greater repulsion effect than bonding electron pair) the bond angle between H-N-H will decrease from 109° to 107° and results in the formation of <span>Trigonal Pyramidal geometry as shown below,</span>

What is the maximum mass of s8 that can be produced by combining 89.0 g of each reactant?
lidiya [134]

Answer : We can produce 125.7 g of S_{8}.

Explanation : The reaction will be

8SO_{2} + 16H_{2}S -----> 3S_{8} + 16H_{2}O

The molecular mass of SO_{2} is 64.1 g/mol

and molecular mass of H_{2}S is 34.1 g/mol

For every mole of SO_{2} we would need twice of H_{2}S moles, so for every 3 moles of S_{8} we need 16 moles of H_{2}S

Now, we can calculate number of moles S_{8}

2.61 X (3/16) = 0.49 moles

Here, the molecular mass of S_{8} is 256.8 g

multiplying it with the number of 0.49 moles we get, 256.8 X 0.49 = 125.7 g of S_{8}.

Hence, 125.7 g of S_{8} will be produced.

True or False? Unbalanced forces cause a change in motion <br> T/F <br><br> How do you know this?
Oxana [17]

Answer:

true

Explanation

Unbalanced forces can cause an object to change its motion.If an object is at rest and an unbalanced force pushes or pulls the object it will move. Unbalanced forces can also change the speed or direction of an object that is already in motion.

solong [7]

The answer iiiis... A: Group 8A, Period 1

<h3>Here's why:</h3>

The way I found this doesn't have much thought or explanation--I just remember that helium and hydrogen are in period 1. The only answer choice with "period 1" is A.
