Explanation:

The average number of species in 20 randomly selected area = 2

Size of quadrat = 1 m2

Total size of habitat = 200 m2

Population density per 1 m2 = 2

if 2 plant species occupy 1 m2 of the habitat area, then the number of plants that will occupy 200 m2 equals:

            2 x 200 = 400 plant species
