Molality is the number of moles dissolved in one kilogram of solvent.
m = n/kg of solvent
n = mass of solute / molar mass of solute
Acetone's chemical formula is C3H6O. Therefore, its molar mass = 12*3 + 6*1 + 1*16 = 58g = 0.058kg
n = mass of solute / 0.058
We have the molality = 0.7500 and the mass of solution = mass of solvent + mass of solute = 450 g = 0.45 kg
Therfore, mass of solvet = 0.45 - mass of solute
0.75 = n / 0.45 - mass of solute
0.75 = (mass of solute / 0.058) / (0.45 - mass of solute)
Let mass of solute = x
0.75 = (x/0.058) / (0.45 - x)
0.3375 - 0.75x = x/0.058
x = 0.019575 - 0.0435x
1.0435x = 0.019575
x = 0.01875 kg
mass of acetone = 0.01875 kg = 18.75 grams

An ecologist counts 75 cardinals in an area measuring 15 square kilometers. What is the population density of the cardinals?
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

5

Explanation:

We know that,

number of count of cardinals = 75; and

measured area = 15 square kilometers.

To find the population density of the cardinals in an area of 15 square kilometers, we need to divide the number of cardinals by the given unit area:

Population density of cardinals = 75 / 15 = 5

Therefore, the population density of cardinals in an area measuring 15 square kilometers is 5.

How many liters of H2O gas are produced when
anyanavicka [17]
1 mole C3H8 produces 4 moles H2O. So, first we convert 32 grams of propane to moles and then find moles of H2O. Then convert moles of H2O to grams of H2O
Moles of H2O produced = 32 g C3H8 x 1 mole/44 g x 4 moles H2O/mole C3H8 = 2.909 moles H2O
Grams H2O produced = 2.909 moles H2O x 18 g/mole = 52.36 g = 52 g H2O
