Margaret Mead conducted a now-classic study of cultural variation in the 1930s and she is also known as one of the most famous American cultural anthropologists. She had a great influence on many people because she was a speaker in the mass media in the 60s and 70s.
She was also known as a controversial person because of her reports towards sex in South Pacific and Southeast Asian cultures.
