Notice that a can is a cylinder, which is basically two circles and one rectangle. Now, the question wants area of this rectangle.

You know the width of the rectangle (or the paper), which is 11cm. How do you find the length then?

Notice that the length of the rectangle is also the circumference of the circles. From here, use C = πd where C is circumference and d is diameter. The d is given, which is 7.5 cm. Depending on the question, π can be 3.14, 22/7 or the actual pi.

multiply π and 7.5cm and you get the circumference. Multiply this to 11cm and you get area of the rectangle.

Find the volume of given solid.plz give explaination.
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

480 cm^3

Step-by-step explanation:

Total volume is the sum of the volumes of the 3 cuboids.

Cuboid at the bottom:

V = l×b×h

V = 12 × 5 × 4 = 240

Both on top are identical.

Their height is 10-4= 6 cm

Each has volume = 5×4×6 = 120

Total Volume = 240 + 120 + 120

= 480 cm^3

the side length ofthe square porch behind macis house is (3x + 2) feet. The porch has a perimeter of (14x - 2) feet. What are th
andriy [413]

Answer:

The porch is 17 ft by 17 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a square is

P = 4s where s is the side length

P = 4( 3x+2)

P = 12x+8

We know P = 14x-2

14x-2 = 12x+8

Subtract 12x from each side

14x-2 -12x = 12x+8-12x

2x -2 = 8

Add 2 to each side

2x-2 +2 = 8+2

2x= 10

Divide by 2

2x/2 = 10/2

x = 5

The side  is 3x+2

                 3*5+2

                  15+2

                   17

The porch is 17 ft by 17 ft

graph the line that passes through the points (-8,9) and (4,-3) what are the x and y intercepts for this line someone help pleas
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

(0,1)- y intercept (1,0) x intercept

Step-by-step explanation:

first lets write this equation in slope intercept form: y=mx+b

m=slope

b=y intercept

so

slope formula:

(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

y2=-3

y1=9

x2=4

x1=-8

so

(-3-9)/(4--8)=-12/12=-1

slope=-1

hence

y=-1x+b

substitute "x" as 4 and "y" as -3

so

-3=-1(4)+b

-3=-4+b

1=b

so

y=-x+1

1=y intercept

and

0=-x+1

-1=-x

1=x

1=x intercept
