Hello and good day.

I will help you solve this question with reasonable explanation, lets start.

The volume consists of Length times height times width.

You can divide this prism into 2 prisms or calculate the prism without the missing space, and subtract the volume of the missing space at the end.

I will show you the last way.

So first lets find the volume of the rectangular prism with out the gap:

5 times 6 times 8

this is a total of 240 cubic units

now lets find the volume of the missing space;

4 times 4 times 5

this is a total of 80.

Now we will subtract 80 cubic centimeters from the rectangle with the space filled in. This results in 160 cubic meters.

The answer is C., 160 cubic meters.

Have a great day, and i hope this helps you.

Answer:

Answer:

  • x → 4.24
  • y → 4.24

Step-by-step explanation:

» x and y can only be got through using trigonometric ratios:

✍ <u> </u><u>For</u><u> </u><u>x</u><u> </u>:

{ \tt{ \sin( \theta)  =  \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse} }} \\  \\ { \tt{ \sin(45 \degree)  =  \frac{x}{6} }} \\  \\ { \tt{x = 6 \times  \sin(45 \degree) }} \\ { \tt{x = 4.24}}

✍ <u> </u><u>F</u><u>o</u><u>r</u><u> </u><u>y</u><u> </u>:

{ \tt{ \cos( \theta)  =  \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} }} \\  \\ { \tt{ \cos( 45  \degree)  =  \frac{y}{6} }} \\  \\ { \tt{y = 6 \times  \cos(45 \degree) }} \\ { \tt{y = 4.24}}

Answer:

(a)x=128 degrees

(b)\angle APD\neq 116^\circ

Step-by-step explanation:

\angle ABD+\angle CBD =180^\circ$ (Linear Postulate)\\\angle ABD+116^\circ =180^\circ\\\angle ABD=180^\circ-116^\circ\\\angle ABD=64^\circ

(a) Now:

\angle AOD=2 \times \angle ABD$ (Angle at the centre is twice the  angle at the circumference)\\x=2 \times 64^\circ\\x=128^\circ

(b)

\angle APD=2 \times \angle ABD$ (Inscribed Angle Theorem)\\\angle APD=2 \times 64^\circ\\ \angle APD=128^\circ

\angle APD\neq 116^\circ
