Answer: the average density (in kg/m3) of the log is 400 kg/m³

Explanation:

Given that;

a log with uniform-diameter floats with 60.0% of its length above water.

from the Archimedes principle formula;

friction submerged = Average density of object / density of fluid. --- equ 1

We know that; density of water = 1000 kg/m³

now the log floats with 60.0% of its length above water

so submerged fraction is 100% - 60% = 40% = 0.40

from our equation;

friction submerged = Average density of object / density of fluid

we substitute

0.40 = Average density of object / 1000 kg/m³

Average density of object  = 0.40 × 1000

Average density of object  = 400 kg/m³

Therefore; the average density (in kg/m3) of the log is 400 kg/m³

olya-2409 [2.1K]

The car heads east at an average speed of 50 miles per hour from the intersection point towards East. The truck heads east at an average speed of 60 miles per hour from the intersection point towards South.

The distance of car from the intersection point after t hours is 50t.

The distance of truck from the intersection point after t hours is 60t.

Since these distances are perpendicular to each other, distance apart d (in miles) at the end of t hours is

d=\sqrt{(50t)^2+(60t)^2} \\ d=10\sqrt{61} t\\ d=78.1t

Thus the distance apart is d=78.1t \;miles

A bus travels a distance of 120 km with a speed of 40km per hour and returns with a speed of 30km per hour calculate the average
Vsevolod [243]

Answer:

35 km/hr

Explanation:

Average speed = (total of the speed)/(the sets of speeds given)

Direction does not matter in this instance since speed is only magnitude,

Average speed = (30 + 40)/2

Average speed = 70 ÷ 2

= 35 km/hr
