John Adams served as the Vice President of the first President George Washington, and then led on to serve as the second President of The United States. His lack of popularity rose from his inability to calm the conflicts that arose due to his presidency between the Federalists and the Republicans. These conflicts usually revolved around a very hot topic at the time, which was the balance of the power that was to be shared between the two levels of governments in the country, the Federal Government and the States’ Government.
