Write an expression using all six trigonometric functions such that the value of the expression is 3.
iren2701 [21]
The trig functions that you need to deal with are
Sine
Cosine
Tangent
Cotangent
Cosecant
Secant

You need to write a single expression using all six trig functions such that the value of the expression equals 3.

To make this as simple as possible, the first thing I would do is look up the values of these functions and identify which ones are equal to either 1/2 or 1.0 or 2.0

sin(30º) = 1/2
sin(90º) = 1
cos(0º) = 1
cos(60º) = 1/2
tan(45º) = 1
csc(30º) = 2
csc(90º) = 1
sec(0º) = 1
sec(60º) = 2
cot(45º) = 1

If we only had to use three trig functions (sin, cos, tan), one possibility is
tan(45º) + cos(0º)/sin(30º) = 1 + 1/(1/2) = 1 + 2 = 3
noticed how I chose one each of the required functions and the operations so that the result = 3.

Now it is up to you to figure out how to combine all six trig functions so that they equal zero. There are many possibilities for you to choose from..

A survey of 25 young professionals fond that they spend an average of $28 when dining out, with a standard deviation of $10. (a)
skad [1K]

Answer:

a) The 95% of confidence intervals for the average spending

(23.872 , 32.128)

b) The calculated value t= 1< 1.711( single tailed test) at 0.05 level of significance with 24 degrees of freedom.

The null hypothesis is accepted

A survey of 25 young professionals statistically that the population mean is less than $30

<u>Step-by-step explanation</u>:

Step:-(i)

Given data a survey of 25 young professionals fond that they spend an average of $28 when dining out, with a standard deviation of $10

The sample size 'n' = 25

The mean of the sample   x⁻  = $28

The standard deviation of the sample (S) = $10.

Level of significance ∝=0.05

The degrees of freedom γ =n-1 =25-1=24

tabulated value t₀.₀₅ = 2.064

<u>Step 2:-</u>

The 95% of confidence intervals for the average spending

((x^{-} - t_{\alpha } \frac{S}{\sqrt{n} } ,x^{-} + t_{\alpha }\frac{S}{\sqrt{n} } )

(28 - 2.064 \frac{10}{\sqrt{25} } ,28 + 2.064\frac{10}{\sqrt{25} } )

( 28 - 4.128 , 28 + 4.128)

(23.872 , 32.128)

a) The 95% of confidence intervals for the average spending

(23.872 , 32.128)

b)

Null hypothesis: H₀:μ<30

Alternative Hypothesis: H₁: μ>30

level of significance ∝ = 0.05

The test statistic

t = \frac{x^{-}-mean }{\frac{S}{\sqrt{n} } }

t = \frac{28-30 }{\frac{10}{\sqrt{25} } }

t = |-1|

The calculated value t= 1< 1.711( single tailed test) at 0.05 level of significance with 24 degrees of freedom.

The null hypothesis is accepted

<u>Conclusion</u>:-

The null hypothesis is accepted

A town has 5000 people in year t = 0. Calculate how long it takes for the population P to double once, twice, and three times, a
UNO [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

At the time t = 0, population of the town = 5000

Rate of population increase = 500 per year

Therefore, the equation that will represent the population will be

P_{t}=P_{0}+500t

Where P_{t} = Population after t years

P_{0}= Initial population

t = Time in years

a). For double once the population will be 500×2 = 10000

By plugging in the values in the equation,

10000 = 5000 + 500t

500t = 10000 - 5000

500t = 5000

t = \frac{5000}{500}

t = 10 years

For Double twice,

Population will be = 10000×2 = 20000

Now we plug in the values in the equation again

20000 = 5000 + 500t

500t = 20000 - 5000

500t = 15000

t = \frac{15000}{500}

t = 30 years

For double thrice,

Population of the town = 20000×2 = 40000

Now we plug in the values in the equation,

40000 = 5000 + 500t

500t = 40000 - 5000

500t = 35000

t = \frac{35000}{500}

t = 70 years

b). If the population growth is 5%.

Then the growth will be exponential represented by

T_{n}=T_{0}(1+\frac{r}{100})^{t}

T_{n} = Population after t years

T_{0} = Initial population

t = time in years

For double once,

Population after t years = 10000

10000=5000(1+\frac{5}{100})^{t}

(1.05)^{t}=\frac{10000}{5000}

(1.05)^{t}=2

Take log on both the sides

log(1.05)^{t}=log2

tlog(1.05) = log2

t = \frac{log2}{log1.05}

t = 14.20 years

For double twice,

Population after t years = 20000

20000=5000(1+\frac{5}{100})^{t}

(1.05)^{t}=\frac{20000}{5000}

(1.05)^{t}=4

Take log on both the sides

log(1.05)^{t}=log4

tlog(1.05) = log4

t = \frac{log4}{log1.05}

t = 28.413 years

For double thrice

Population after t years = 40000

40000=5000(1+\frac{5}{100})^{t}

(1.05)^{t}=\frac{40000}{5000}

(1.05)^{t}=8

Take log on both the sides

log(1.05)^{t}=log8

tlog(1.05) = log8

t = \frac{log8}{log1.05}

t = 42.620 years
