Jordan is on a ride along with Officer Leo. Officer Leo pulls over a car for making an illegal turn. When he goes up to talk to

the driver, he sees a bag of what appears to be illegal drugs on the passenger seat. No one else is in the car. Officer Leo tells the driver to get out of the car. He places the driver in handcuffs, since he is the only officer there, and tells him that he needs to check for weapons. The officer searches the inside of the car and then the trunk. He doesn't find any weapons, but he does find more drugs in the trunk. Only then does he arrest the driver and return to the station. A colleague processes the driver, and Officer Leo and Jordan go back out.
Are the drugs from the passenger seat of the car the result of a legal search? Why or why not?
