y= x²+20x+k

if the graph doesn't intersect the x-axis it means it has no real roots so the discriminat has to be negative so will have imaginary roots

discriminant is

b²-4ac = 20²-4*1*k = 400-4k for this to be negative k has to be more then 100 so will have 400 - a number bigger then 400

k > 100 is the solution

3/4 of a pound. Why? 1/4 & 3/4 have the same denominator so you just compare the numerators. 3 is obviously bigger then 1 so there is your answer. If you were thinking about let's say cakes it would be the other way around. Would you rather share it with 3 people and get small pieces or share it with 1, which can basically be yourself.

1. sinQ (Q is the angle) = $\frac{14}{50} = \frac{7}{25} = 0.28$

Use Pythagorean Theorem to find side PQ. $14^{2} + PQ^{2}= 50^{2} \\PQ^{2} = 2304\\PQ = 48$

2. cosQ = $\frac{48}{50} = \frac{24}{25} = 0.96$

the 2 angles marked with orange and green are equal becos the question said that the indicated angles are congruent meaning same deg. so 180 - that given angle = the 2 marked angles (based on the rule known as angles on a str line are supplementary)

since the 2 marked angles are same, you can say that d and k are parallel due to the rule of alternate angles
