Who realized that fingerprints were unique to individuals?
Whitepunk [10]
1. I believe the answer is William Herschel.
Francis Galton is often credited with the discovery that everyone's fingerprints are unique and that they could therefore be used for identification. However his works is extensively based on the work of Dr. Henry Faulds, who appears to have a better claim to the discovery, along with British magistrate William Herschel.

2. I believe that the ratio of height to width indicate size and consistency in hand writing analysis. The ratio of height, width and size of letters is among the characteristics of handwriting analysis that entails whether the letters are consistent in height, width and size.

3. I believe the statement that describes the line quality in handwriting analysis is whether the letters are shaky or flow continuously. Line quality is an indication of speed and fluency; the better the quality, the more skilled, or at least fast, the movement of the pen.

4. The statement that best indicates pen pressure in hand writing analysis is the down strokes and upstrokes are an even width.
Pen pressure is the pressure equal or unequal when applied to upward and down ward strokes. The pen pressure of a writer indicates his physical and emotional energy.

5. I think what is measured in the ridge count is spacing between ridge lines.
Ridge counting is the the counting of the ridges that touch or cross the line of count drawn between the delta and core of loop patterns. A white space must always intervene between the delta and the first ridge to be counted.

Suppose there are two homologous chromosomes. Each chromosome contains a single mutant allele in different parts of the chromoso
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

Cross overs can lead to formation of chromosome pairs that have no mutant allele.

Explanation:

Cross overs can lead to formation of chromosome pairs that have no mutant allele.

For example -

Suppose "X" is a mutant  allele and "x" is a mutant free allele.

Now when two homologous chromosomes contains a single mutant allele in different parts of the chromosome are crossed the following offspring are produced

X x

X XX Xx

x Xx xx

"xx" is a mutant free genotype.

Thus, crossing over can create a single mutation-free chromosome

Why are there no carriers with dominant pedigrees?
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
You can't have a carrier with a dominant pedigree because other wise than individual or organism would be afflicted by the gene and render them incapable of being a carrier. A carrier is an individual/organism that has a normal phenotype (meaning it is not afflicted by said gene) but is carrying the gene that could cause disease or whatever the affect may be. In this case the gene would have to be homozygous recessive to be expressed. Hopefully this helps!

Water leaves the internal cavity of a sponge through the
Trava [24]

If I'm not mistaken, it leaves through the osculum which is a cavity located on the upper part of a sponge.

Sponges feed through a process called filtration, which means that they filter the water in search of nutrients. And after they collect everything they need from the water, they need to let it out somehow; through the osculum.

Hope it helped,
