The top priority for this client is to make sure he is well hydrated. Humans can survive longer without food than without water.
Alternative sources hydration, as well as <span><span>nutrition </span> include IV fluids, enteral feedings  and parenteral nutrition.
After the client gets better he can start drinking by himself, eating thin foods and later eating normally.
