Roast beef is on sale at the deli for $6.78 per pound. How much will it cost to buy 1.5 pounds of roast beef ? Please show your

So what you want to do is divide 6.78 by 2 to find one half of a pound. Then once you do that add your answer to 6.78 to equal one pound and a half. Hope this helps!


$6.78 divided by 2 = $3.39

$6.78 + $3.39 = $10.17

Here is a little tip for this: The unit above cancels the unit below. So in this problem you are asked to convert pounds to ounce. So your equation will look like this. 

ounce = 2.93 pounds ( \frac{16 ounces}{1 pounds} ) = 46.88
Your ratio should involve the conversion factor. So 16 and 1 is involved canceling A and D. Then, Notice that you started with poubls. Then the ratio must have pounds at the bottom to cancel the units leaving ounces.
