Answer:

a) -0.25 and 1.25

b) -0.5 and 1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

a) For 4x^2-4x -1 = 0

What we have to do here is to simply find he points on the x-axis in which the graph crosses it

we have this as;

approximately-0.5 and 1.5

what we are saying is that the plot crosses the x-axis at x = -0.25 and x = 1.25

ii) what we have to do here is to find the point at which y = 2

After finding this point, we trace it to the plot sideways, before we trace to the x-axis

By tracing, we have the crossing on the x-axis at these points at -0.5 and 1.5

For the following telescoping series, find a formula for the nth term of the sequence of partial sums
gtnhenbr [62]

I'm guessing the sum is supposed to be

\displaystyle\sum_{k=1}^\infty\frac{10}{(5k-1)(5k+4)}

Split the summand into partial fractions:

\dfrac1{(5k-1)(5k+4)}=\dfrac a{5k-1}+\dfrac b{5k+4}

1=a(5k+4)+b(5k-1)

If k=-\frac45, then

1=b(-4-1)\implies b=-\frac15

If k=\frac15, then

1=a(1+4)\implies a=\frac15

This means

\dfrac{10}{(5k-1)(5k+4)}=\dfrac2{5k-1}-\dfrac2{5k+4}

Consider the nth partial sum of the series:

S_n=2\left(\dfrac14-\dfrac19\right)+2\left(\dfrac19-\dfrac1{14}\right)+2\left(\dfrac1{14}-\dfrac1{19}\right)+\cdots+2\left(\dfrac1{5n-1}-\dfrac1{5n+4}\right)

The sum telescopes so that

S_n=\dfrac2{14}-\dfrac2{5n+4}

and as n\to\infty, the second term vanishes and leaves us with

\displaystyle\sum_{k=1}^\infty\frac{10}{(5k-1)(5k+4)}=\lim_{n\to\infty}S_n=\frac17

HELP PLEASE. For parallelogram LMNO, if m∠L = 3x - 25 and m∠N = 2x - 10, find m∠M.
Dvinal [7]
In a parallelogram opposite angles are congruent, that means:

Angle L = Angle N, replace L & N by they respective value, then

3x-25 = 2x-10 ==> x=15 , Now plug the value of x in any of the 2 sides
3(15) -25 =20°

hence Angle L =- Angle N = 20°

Now let's calculate Angle M. In a parallelogram the adjacent angle are supplementary, that means their sum = 180°, then

Angle N + Angle N = 180°==> Angle M = 180°-20° = 160°
