Answer:

I dont believe that anything is truly forgotten only not at the forefront of our minds anymore, a thought isnt a tangible chemical or thing by itself but its caused by the chemicals in our brain, we simply do not remember the thought as the chemical process which allowed that particular thought to happen stopped, there are certain circumstances that go into our everyday lives and thoughts, you could probably recreate the thought and remember it if you are in the exact same circumstances as our brain is a very complex thing
