Hello!
Circular problems are the worst, am I right?
So as it says, A (Area) = \pi (Pi) r^{2} (Radius Squared.)
So Area = Pi times Radius Squared. The radius is the length from the center of a circle to any "edge" of the circle. So 1.5 feet is the radius.
1.5 Times 1.5 is 2.25. Pi is around 3.14. So 2.25 times 3.14. This is 7.065.
You're trying to find that red part. So you divide 7.065 by 4. It equals 1.76625.
Rounded to the nearest hundreth, it is 1.77.
Your answer is 1.77 ft^{2}

I hope I helped!

Ashley opened a lemonade stand on her street. It costs her $12.50 to buy the supplies each day, and she sells lemonade for $2.50
nasty-shy [4]

Answer:

75

Step-by-step explanation:

Subtract sales - expenses

200 - 12.5 = 187.5

2.5x = 187.5

Divide by 2.5 on both sides

187.5/2.5

x = 75

An engineer is designing a large steel pad to be installed on the deck of an aircraft carrier. Its total volume will be 18 yd^3.
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

The cost of the material for the full-sized pad is;

d) 222,750.00

Step-by-step explanation:

The parameters of the steel pad and the scale model are;

The volume of the deck = 18 yd³

The dimensions of the model of the same material = 6 feet by 4.5 feet and 4.5 inches thick

The weight of the sample, m₂ = 75 lbs

The cost of the steel, P = $55/lb

The dimensions of the sample in yards are;

6 feet = 2 yards, 4.5 feet = 1.5 yards, and 4 inches = 0.\overline 1 yards

The volume of the sample, V₂ = 2 yd. × 1.5 yd. × 0.\overline 1 yd. =  (1/3) yd.³

The density of the sample material, ρ = m₂/V₂

∴ The density of the sample material, ρ = 75 lbs/((1/3)yd.³) = 225 lbs/yd³

Therefore, the density of the material of the pad, ρ = 225 lbs/yd³

The mass of the steel  pad, m₁ = ρ × V₁

∴ The mass of the steel  pad, m₁ = 225 lbs/yd³ × 18 yd³ = 4,050 lbs

The cost of the material for the full-sized steel pad, C = m₁ × P

∴ C = 4,050 lbs × $55/lb = $222,750

Barry wants to make a drawling this is 1/2 the size of the original. If a tree in the original drawling is 11 inches tall and 7
avanturin [10]

Answer: 5.5 inches, 3.5 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Barry wants to make a drawing i.e. half the size of original

The length and width of the original drawing are  11 inches and 7 inches respectively.

So, the intended drawing is obtained by multiplying the original dimensions by \frac{1}{2}

The length of barry's drawing is

\Rightarrow 11\times \frac{1}{2}\\\\\Rightarrow 5.5\ \text{inches}

The breadth of barry's drawing

\Rightarrow 7\times \frac{1}{2}\\\\\Rightarrow 3.5\ \text{inches}
