Answer:

y=8

Step-by-step explanation:

if y = -x +7

then

y= 1 + 7 cause we know x = -1 so negative x is 1

so 1+7=8

so y = 8

hope this helped :)

Line AB contains points A(4, 5) and B(9.7). What is the slope of AB?
Serggg [28]

Answer: 2/5

Step-by-step explanation:

line up the points and label them XYX2 and Y2. Then subtract X2 minus X1 below Y2 minus Y1 then you will get the slope. In this case it is 2/5 .

Find the area of the shaded portion in the equilateral triangle with sides 6.
VashaNatasha [74]
First, let's get the area of the entire triangle since we'll need it later. The area of a triangle is A=1/2*b*h

We can find the height with the Pythagorean theorem by splitting the triangle in half.
3^2+b^2=6^2
9+b^2=36
b^2=27
b=√27

Then we can find the area:
A=1/2*6*√27
A=3√27   or   =9√3   or 15.59

Now we can find the area of each region in the triangle other than the shaded region because they are all portions of a circle.

Each region has an angle of 60 because this is an equilateral triangle. Therefore the area of each region other than the shaded region will be 1/6 the area of a circle with a radius of 3 because a full circle is 360 degrees.
A=pi*r^2/6
A=pi*9/6
A=4.71

So three of these regions would have an area of 14.14

We do the area of the triangle minus the area of these regions to get the area of the shaded region
15.59-14.14 = 1.45

Hope this helps!

Solve for X

4X-(9-3X)=8X-1
Nataliya [291]
4x - (9 - 3x) = 8x - 1

4x - (9) - -(3x) = 8x - 1

4x - 9 + 3x = 8x - 1

7x - 9  = 8x - 1        (-8x from each side)

-x - 9 = -1                (+9 to each)

-x = 8                     (divide -1 from each side)

x = -8

If he rows with the current, Mishka rows 48 km in 3 hours. If he rows against the current, it takes 4 hours to travel the same d
Zarrin [17]

Mishka's speed = 14 km/hr

Current speed = 2 km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the speed of rowing be r and speed of current be c.

If he rows with the current, Mishka rows 48 km in 3 hours.

        Relative speed = r + c

        Distance = 48 km

        Time = 3 hours

        48 = 3 x ( r+c)

        r + c = 16 ---------------------------eqn 1

If he rows against the current, it takes 4 hours to travel the same distance.

        Relative speed = r - c

        Distance = 48 km

        Time = 4 hours

        48 = 4 x ( r - c)

        r - c = 12 ---------------------------eqn 2

eqn 1 + eqn 2

        2r = 28

          r = 14 km/hr

Substituting in eqn 1

         14 + c = 16

                c = 2 km/hr

Mishka's speed = 14 km/hr

Current speed = 2 km/hr
