Scruffy. Sam in engaged in the criminal activity of growning marijuana in his home. A couple of police officers while randomly p

assing through the neighborhood saw Sam go to the mailbox. They thought that he looked a little scruffy and they were concerned that they had not made a sufficient number of arrests in the past month. They decide to go "check out" Sam. Therefore, they immediately broke down Sam's door, searched his home, and arrested him. The police officer in charge told Sam that because marijuana was involved, he lost his rights against self-incrimination and that he might as well confess. Sam proceeded to confess to growing marijuana and a number of other crimes. The judge was so angry with Sam that he threw him in jail for two months without any kind of hearing. Sam's lawyer, who just graduated from law school, is not sure if the police acted legally in Sam's case by breaking down the door. Which of the following is true on that issue?
a. The police acted legally so long as they can show that Sam really did look scruffy
b. The police acted legally so long as they can show that the street was truly chosen at random for patrol
c. The police acted legally so long as they can show that Sam had been in jail previously on a drug offense charge
d. The police acted legally so long as they can show that Sam had been in jail previously for any offense
e. The police violated Sam's Fourth Amendment rights

the answer is: E. The police violated Sam's Fourth Amendment rights.

The fourth amendment protect the united citizens from 'unreasonable searches and seizures'.

The only time the police department can conduct a search in private property without a warrant is only if the Police received a 911 call from that private property, hearing screams or gunshots, or directly saw a criminal get into the property.

In the case, the police did not face any of those situations and still conducted a search without warrant. Which is why the police's action is considered as unreasonable searches and seizures.

Convenience sampling

Explanation:

Convenience sampling involves the use of the first available source of primary data without having to add any other requirement. In other words, it is a sampling method which is totally dependent on collection of data from convenient available members. In this method, researchers simply make use of participants wherever they are found and is convenient. Like in the case of the example, the students simply administered the survey to 10 of their friends who were available and would be conveniently participate in the study.

________________ is an influence or authority over other people, territories, or nations.
Rom4ik [11]

The second alternative is correct.

Political power is a concession given by the people to their greater representative, who has in his mandate the power and influence to make decisions that insinuate under the nation.

It is worth mentioning that political power is enormous, but it is not untouchable, because it is controlled by the monitoring mechanisms instituted by democracy.

Describe how consumers have influenced the success of products in recent years?
mr_godi [17]
Consumers are buying more products because their need is created by marketing, there is a trend for a product or there is a special moment that a particular product is needed among some group of people. Continuality of selling a product can be also achieved by producing its newer versions - sooner or later most of the consumers will feel a need to own newer verseion (or they will wait for another newer version). Good example of that is what happens to iPhone sales.
