Find the product of z1 and z2, where z1 = 7(cos 40° + i sin 40°) and z2 = 6(cos 145° + i sin 145°).
Oduvanchick [21]
For two complex numbers z_1=re^{i\theta}=r(\cos\theta+i\sin\theta) and z_2=se^{i\varphi}=s(\cos\varphi+i\sin\varphi), the product is

z_1z_2=rse^{i(\theta+\varphi)}=rs(\cos(\theta+\varphi)+i\sin(\theta+\varphi))

That is, you multiply the moduli and add the arguments. You have z_1=7e^{i40^\circ} and z_2=6e^{i145^\circ}, so the product is

z_1z_2=7\times6(\cos(40^\circ+145^\circ)+i\sin(40^\circ+145^\circ)=42(\cos185^\circ+i\sin185^\circ)=42e^{i185^\circ}

You want to purchase a house in 10 years. You estimate the cost will be $184,500.00. You want to make a 20% down payment and pay
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
Use the formula of the future value of annuity ordinary and solve for pmt
First deducted the amount of down payment
184,500−184,500×0.20=147,600

Pmt=147,600÷(((1+0.085
÷12)^(12×10)−1)÷(0.085÷12))
=784.53 per month

Need help with number 43 and 45 and need to show the work
Alex787 [66]
43:
       Negative temperatures are basically the same as normal ones, although they go below zero, so they are still the same distance apart from zero, just on the left side of the number line.

      To find the answer find the difference between 30.5°C and 0 (which is 30.5).

      Next, find the difference between -122.2°C and zero (122.2)

       Finally, add 122.2 + 30.5 to find the total distances from the zero combined for the full distances apart from each other.

     (We add them because -122.2 to the left of zero, and 30.5 is on the right)

      You should get 152.7 as your answer.

45:
     I'm guessing since it is asking for the deepest point (-5315) from sea level (0), the answer is -5,315 feet

     *Remember 5,315 is negative because numbers below sea level are all negative*

     So the answer should be -5,315 feet deep. (I'm not sure how to show your work for that I'm guessing it is 0 - 5,315 at the slightest).

 *Hope this all helped :)*
