Jack travelled 360 km at an average speed of 80 km/h. Elaine
diamong [38]

Answer:

Average speed of Elain = 60 km/h

Explanation:

Total Distance covered by Jack = 360km

Average Speed of Jack = 80 km/h

Time taken by Jack to complete his journey = Distance / Average speed = 360 km / 80 km/h

Time taken by Jack to complete his journey = 4.5 hours

As it is given the both Jack and Elain travelled the same amount of distance:

Total distance travelled by Elain = 360 km

It is given that Elain took 1.5 hourse more than Jack to cover the distance, so Time taken by Elain to cover the distance is = 4.5 hours + 1.5 hours = 6 hours

Average speed of Elain = Distance/ time = 360 km / 6 hours

Average speed of Elain = 60 km/h

What two factors affect the speed of a sound wave as it travels through a medium?
GalinKa [24]
The energy transferred by a sound wave is independent of its speed. However, the type of medium affects this due to the differences in the distances between particles in different media, i.e. sound travels faster through solids than gases as the solid particles are much closer together, so they collide more frequently allowing the sound to travel faster. Additionally, temperature affects the distances between particles in a medium, increasing them with increasing heat, causing slower sound travel. Therefore the answer is the third option.
Hope this helps!

The value of m = - 1.

Explanation:

An expression which contains two or more algebraic terms is called the polynomial. It is made up of two terms namely Poly and Nominal meaning many terms.

P(x) = 2x^3 - 3x^2 - mx - 6

x - 2 is one of the factor of the polynomial.

So x - 2 = 0

    x = 2

Substituting the value of x,

P(2) = 2(2)^3 - 3(2)^2 - m(2) - 6

       2(8) - 3(4) - m(2) - 6 = 0

       16 - 12 - 2m - 6 = 0

        - 2 - 2m = 0

           - 2m = 2

               m = - 1
