Write a system of equations with the solution (-3,-8) in standard form.

Mathematics

3 0

Answer:

y=2x-2

y=3x+1

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this I will be using the point slope formula

It is as follows

y-y₁=m(x-x₁)

We can choose any m value so I will be choosing m=2

(x₁,y₁) will be (-3,-8) respectively because all we want is for the line to pass through that point

so we have

y-(-8)=2(x-(-3)

We can simplify this to

y+8=2(x+3)

y+8=2x+6

y=2x-2

We then repeat this process but choose a new m (the m value doesn't really matter as long as it's not 0)

I will choose 3

so we have

y-(-8)=3(x-(-3))

Which gives u

y+8=3(x+3)

y+8=3x+9

y=3x+1

A circle has its center at the center of a square with 3-inch sides. Find the area of the square not covered by the circle Round
Aleonysh [2.5K]
So in order for us to know the area of the square that is not covered by the circle, we need to find first both the areas of the square and the circle.
So for the area of the square it is A = sxs. And for the circle is A = pi*r^2.
Let us find the area of the square first given that the side is 3 inches.
So A = 3*3
    A = 9 square inches.
Next is the area of the circle. Since the center of the circle is the same with the center of the square, the radius would be 1.5.
SO, A = (3.14)(1.5)^2
       A = 2.25 (3.14)
        A = 7.065 square inches.
Next, we deduct the area of circle from area of square and the result would be 1.935 <span>in². So the answer for this would be option B.
Hope this answer helps.</span>

Find the area of a trapezoid with base 1 side = 10 base 2 side = 16 and 3
mart [117]

Answer:

Area of Trapezoid is 39 unit²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

For A Trapezoid

The measure of base side 1 = b_1 = 10 unit

The measure of base side 2 = b_2 = 16 unit

The height of the Trapezoid = h = 3 unit

Let  The Area of Trapezoid = A square unit

<u>Now, From Formula</u>

Area of Trapezoid = \dfrac{1}{2} × (sum of opposite base) × height

I.e A =  \dfrac{1}{2} × (b_1 + b_2) × h

Or, A =  \dfrac{1}{2} × (10 unit + 16 unit) × 3 unit

Or, A =  \dfrac{1}{2} × (26 unit) × 3 unit

Or, A =  \dfrac{1}{2} × 78 unit²

Or, A = \dfrac{78}{2} unit²

I.e A = 39 unit²

So, The Area of Trapezoid = A = 39 unit²

Hence, The Area of Trapezoid is 39 unit² . Answer
