Answer:

141.4 sq cm

Step-by-step explanation:

to find the area of the outer circle with a smaller circle inscribed within, you find the area of each and subtract the smaller area from the larger

the radius of the smaller circle is 2

we have to find the radius of the larger circle so we use what we know about its circumference:

C = 2πr

43.96 = 2πr

21.98 = πr

21.98 / π = r

r ≈ 7 cm

now use r = 7 to find area of larger circle:

A = πr²

A = π49

Area of smaller circle:  4π

Area of larger circle without including inner section is 49π - 4π = 45π

45π ≈ 141.4 sq cm

How can you analyze connections between linear equations and use them to solve problems
Alexeev081 [22]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

One of the more obvious "connections" between linear equations is the presence of the same two variables (e. g., x and y) in these equations.

Assuming that your two equations are distinct (neither is merely a multiple of the other), we can use the "elimination by addition and subtraction" method to eliminate one variable, leaving us with an equation in one variable, solve this 1-variable (e. g., in x) equation, and then use the resulting value in the other equation to find the value of the other variable (e. g., y).  By doing this we find a unique solution (a, b) that satisfies both original equations.  Not only that, but also this solution (a, b) will also satisfy both of the original linear equations.

I urge you to think about what you mean by "analyze connections."

Casey orders 3 pizzas and 2 orders of breadsticks for a total of 30.00. Rachel orders 2 pizzas and 3 orders of breadsticks for 2
barxatty [35]

Answer:

8

Step-by-step explanation:

x=pizza

y= breadsticks

3x+2y=30

2x+3y=25

first we myltiply the top equation with 3 and then w emultiply the lower equation with -2 so it is

9x+6y=90

-4x-6y= -50

now we can add them together and the y contracts

5x=40

now we divide it by 5

x=8

So pizza costs 8

Keelie has a triangular-shaped card. The lengths of its sides are 5.1 cm, 6.8 cm, and 8.5 cm. Is the card a right triangle?
anastassius [24]

Answer:

Yes

Step-by-step explanation:

To figure out if a triangle is a right triangle, you have to plug in the side lengths into the equation a^{2} + b^{2} = c^{2}

Your equation should look like 5.1^{2}  + 6.8^{2}  = 8.5^{2}

Now you simplify. The equation should be: 26.01 + 46.24 = 72.25

Then add 26.01 and 46.24 to get 72.25 = 72.25

Since they are equal, the triangle is a right triangle.
