Answer:

A,B,D,E are wrong

(A) Heat exchangers are devices where two moving fluid streams are mixed together (B) Heat exchangers are devices where two moving fluid streams exchange mass (D) Heat exchangers are devices where two moving fluid streams exchange mechanical work without mixing together (E) There is no heat transfer between the two fluids of an insulated heat exchanger

Explanation:

A heat exchanger can be regarded as a system that bring about transfer heat between two or more than two fluids. It can function in cooling process and heating processes, the fluids involves in this process can have a solid wall to separate them so as to prevent mixing, direct contact could also be utilized. The mechanism is making hot gas jets which could fire upward over a glowing water that is passing through pipes, as water moves along the pipe, heat energy is been absorbed and there is heating up i.e heat is transferred. One is cooked the other is heated up. It is very essential to insulate the whole steam system along with heat exchangers so that energy could be saved and the temperature of the surface would be at safe-to-touch range and also steam quality could be maintained. The types of heat exchanger we have are;

✓Shell and tube heat exchangers.

✓Condensers, evaporators, and boilers

✓Double pipe heat exchangers.

✓Plate heat exchangers.

It should be noted Heat exchangers are devices where two moving fluid streams exchange heat (thermal energy) without mixing together

A 72-kg man stands on a spring scale in an elevator. Starting from rest, the elevator ascends, attaining its maximum speed of 1.
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

Explanation:

During the first .8 s , the elevator is under acceleration . It starts from initial velocity u = 0 , final velocity v = 1.2 m /s , time = .8 s

v = u + at

1.2 = 0 +  .8 a

a = 1.2 / .8

= 1.5 m /s²

During the acceleration in upward direction , let reaction force of ground on man be R .

Net force on man = R - mg

Applying Newton's 2 nd law

R - mg = ma

R = m ( g + a )

= 72 ( 9.8 + 1.5 )

= 813.6 N .

This reaction force will be measured by spring scale , so reading of spring scale will be 813.6 N .

A geosynchronous Earth satellite is one that has an orbital period of precisely 1 day. Such orbits are useful for communication
koban [17]

Answer:

r = 4.24x10⁴ km.

Explanation:

To find the radius of such an orbit we need to use Kepler's third law:

\frac{T_{1}^{2}}{T_{2}^{2}} = \frac{r_{1}^{3}}{r_{2}^{3}}

<em>where T₁: is the orbital period of the geosynchronous Earth satellite = 1 d, T₂: is the orbital period of the moon = 0.07481 y, r₁: is the radius of such an orbit and r₂: is the orbital radius of the moon = 3.84x10⁵ km.                           </em>

From equation (1), r₁ is:

r_{1} = r_{2} \sqrt[3] {(\frac{T_{1}}{T_{2}})^{2}}

r_{1} = 3.84\cdot 10^{5} km \sqrt[3] {(\frac{1 d}{0.07481 y \cdot \frac{365 d}{1 y}})^{2}}

r_{1} = 4.24 \cdot 10^{4} km

Therefore, the radius of such an orbit is 4.24x10⁴ km.

Hope it helped you.

A. Acceleration is a wrong answer. Acceleration is the rate of change to in velocity. It involves a change in speed and direction.

B.  Force is a wrong answer. Force is a directions from push/or pull.

C. Inertia is a correct. Inertia is a tendency of an object to stay at the rest or preserve its state of motion.

Mount Everest rises to a height of 8,850 m above sea level. At a base camp on the mountain the atmospheric pressure is measured
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

74.86°C

Explanation:

P₂ = Vapour pressure of water at sea level = 760 mmHg

P₁ = Pressure at base camp = 296 mmHg

T₂ = Temperature of water = 373 K

ΔH°vap for H2O = 40.7 kJ/mol = 40700 J/mol

R = Gas constant = 8.314 J/mol K

From Claussius Clapeyron equation

ln\frac{P_2}{P_1}=\frac{\Delta H}{R}\left(\frac{1}{T_1}-\frac{1}{T_2}\right)\\\Rightarrow ln\frac{760}{296}=\frac{40700}{8.314}\left(\frac{1}{T_1}-\frac{1}{373}\right)\\\Rightarrow ln\frac{760}{296}\times \frac{8.314}{40700}+\frac{1}{373}=\frac{1}{T_1}\\\Rightarrow 0.0028735=\frac{1}{T_1}\\\Rightarrow T_1=347.996\ K

T₁ = 347.996 K = 74.86°C

∴Water will boil at 74.86°C
