What mass of iron(III) chloride contains 4.13 1023 chloride ions?

Chemistry

Answer:

37.3g

Explanation:

Formula of the compound:

          FeCl₃

Number of chloride ions  =  4.13 x 10²³ ions

First find the number of moles in this ions;

         6.02 x 10²³ ions are contained in 1 mole of a substance

         4.13 x 10²³ ions contains \frac{4.13 x 10^{23} }{6.02 x 10^{23} }  = 0.69mole chloride ions

Now;

        3 mole of chloride ions are contained in 1 mole of FeCl₃

       0.69 mole of chloride ions will contain \frac{0.69}{3} = 0.23mole of FeCl₃

To find the mass;

         Mass of FeCl₃ = number of moles x molar mass

 molar mass of FeCl₃ = 55.8 + 3(35.5)  = 162.3g/mol

        Mass of FeCl₃ = 0.23  x  162.3  = 37.3g

Is milk a solution, suspension, compound , colloid ?
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

Colloids (heterogeneous)

The difference between a colloid and a suspension is that the particles will not settle to the bottom over a period of time, they will stay suspended or float. An example of a colloid is milk. Milk is a mixture of liquid butterfat globules dispersed and suspended in water.

1. Naturally occurring europium (Eu) consists of two isotopes was a mass of 151 and 153. Europium- 151 has an abundance of 48.03
sergejj [24]
The atomic mass of Europium is 152 amu

Work:
151(0.4803) = 72.52 amu
153(0.5197) = 79.5 amu
72.5 + 79.5 = 152 amu
