Answer:

400 K

Explanation:

Charles's law states:

A determined volume of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature, while we have constant pressure.

V₁ / T₁ = V₂ / T₂

We replace data:

5 L / 100K = 20L / T₂

T₂ = 20L . 100K / 5 L

T₂ = 400 K

The volume was quadrupled, so the temperature did.

If we want T° at Celsius degree:

400 K - 273 = 127°C

A gas sample contains 4.00 g of ch4 and 2.00 g of he. what is the volume of the sample at stp? 5.64 l 32.0 l 22.4 l 16.8 l 132 l
Phantasy [73]
The gas sample consists of CH₄ and He.
Number of CH₄ moles - 4 g/ 16 g/mol = 0.25 mol
molar volume is where 1 mol of any gas occupies a volume of 22.4 L
Therefore 0.25 mol of CH₄ gas occupies a volume of 22.4 L/mol x 0.25 mol
Volume of methane - 5.6 L
Number of He moles - 2.00 g/ 4 g/mol = 0.5 mol
Volume occupied by He - 22.4 L /mol x 0.5 mol = 11.2 L
The total volume of the sample = 5.6 L + 11.2 L = 16.8 L

The complete combustion of 0.611 g of a snack bar in a calorimeter (Ccal = 6.15 kJ/°C) raises the temperature of the calorimeter
Bogdan [553]
Focus your attention to the units of the given data and the unit of the final measurement you're going to solve. Through dimensional analysis,you know that the working equation would be:

Food Value = CcalΔT/m
Food value = (6.15 kJ/°C)(1.29 °C)/0.611 g = 12.98 kJ/g

Convert kJ to cal (1 kJ = 239 cal)
Food value = 12.98*239 =<em> 3,103.28 cal/g</em>

A plate and frame filter press with 12 frames is used to filter slurry at constant pressure. Total filtration area is 65 ft2 and
Vladimir [108]

Answer:

t_2 = 14.4 min

Explanation:

Given data:

Number of frame is 12+ 8 = 20

Total filtrate is 360 lb

we know

For 1 plate area = \frac{65}{12} ft^2

Then for 20 are PLATE = 20\tmes \frac{65}{12} ft^2 = 108.33 ft^2

filtrate equation is given as

t\frac{\mu_s\times(\alpha v) V^2}{A^2(-\Delta P)}

In the above equation only t and A is variable , all other terms are constant

Therefore we have

\frac{t_2}{t_1}= \frac{A_1}{A_2} = [\frac{65}{105.33}]^2 = 0.36

t_2 = 0.36\times 40 = 14.4 min

t_2 = 14.4 min
