A 50-kg cart is on an incline of 30 degrees above the horizontal. The cart is at rest. The static coefficient of the slope is 0.

The cart is at rest, so it is in equilibrium and there is no net force acting on it. The only forces acting on the cart are its weight (magnitude <em>w</em>), the normal force (mag. <em>n</em>), and the friction force (maximum mag. <em>f</em> ).

In the horizontal direction, we have

<em>n</em> cos(120º) + <em>f</em> cos(30º) = 0

-1/2 <em>n</em> + √3/2 <em>f</em> = 0

<em>n</em> = √3 <em>f</em>

and in the vertical,

<em>n</em> sin(120º) + <em>f</em> sin(30º) + (-<em>w</em>) = 0

<em>n</em> sin(120º) + <em>f</em> sin(30º) = (50 kg) (9.80 m/s²)

√3/2 <em>n</em> + 1/2 <em>f</em> = 490 N

Substitute <em>n</em> = √3 <em>f</em> and solve for <em>f</em> :

√3/2 (√3 <em>f </em>) + 1/2 <em>f</em> = 490 N

2 <em>f</em> = 490 N

<em>f</em> = 245 N

How is the kinetic energy of the particles that make up a substance different
Valentin [98]

All particles have energy, and the energy varies depending on the temperature the sample of matter is in, which determines if the substance is a solid, liquid, or gas. Solid particles have the least amount of energy, and gas particles have the greatest amount of energy

An air-filled capacitor consists of two parallel plates, each with an area of 7.60 cm2, separated by a distance of 1.60 mm. If a
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

Explanation:

(a) For the calculation of the Electric field we use

E=\frac{V}{d}=\frac{15.0V}{1.6*10^{-3}m} =9375\frac{N}{C}

(b) The capacitance is calculate by using the expression

C=\frac{\epsilon_{0}A}{d}=\frac{8.85*10^{-12}C^{2}/(Nm^{2})*(7.6*10^{-4}m^{2})}{1.6*10^{-3}m}=4.2*10^{-12}C

(c) Finally, the charge on each plate is

Q=CV=(4.2*10^{-12}C)(15V)=6.3*10^{-11}C

I hope this is useful for you

How can you use the physics definitions of time, position, velocity, and acceleration in order to describe different types of 1-
Snezhnost [94]

For example, in machine components it is common to use kinematics analysis to determine the (unknown) speed of an object, that is connected to another object moving at a known speed. For example, one may wish to determine the linear velocity of a piston connected to a flywheel that is turning at a known speed.

hope this helps you and your wellcome :)
