Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define

Ax + bx = c

Step 1: Solve for x

  1. Factor: x(A + b) = c
  2. Isolate x: x = c/(A + b)

We know that we cannot divide by 0, so A + b cannot equal 0.

The average (arithmetic mean) of 12, 25, and x is 21. What is the value of x?
Dominik [7]
The answer is 26, the average is found by adding all the numbers and dividing by how there are. you are given 2 sets (25,12) and need to find X, the average should be 21. 25+12 is 37, 37+(c) which is 26 = 63 , you then divide 63 by how many numbers you had , which is 3 and the answer is 21.

What is the equation of a line, in point-slope form, that passes through (-4, -1) and has a slope of (5, 7)
bearhunter [10]

It is y+1=0.9(x+4) because the formula is y - y1=m(x + x1) you only need one point and the slope. If you have two points, you need to find the slope by using the slope formula slope=y2-y1/x2-x1. Filling it in it would look like slope=7-(-1)/5-(-4). The double negatives cancel each other out and it turns to addition signs leaving us with slope=7+1/5+4 so the slope is 8/9 or 0.9. Now you can fill out the point-slope formula y+1=0.9(x+4)
