Answer:

y= -2x- \frac{2}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

3y+2=-6x

3y=-6x-2

y= \frac{-6}{3}x - \frac{2}{3}

y= -2x - \frac{2}{3}

You isolate for y in this example by moving the 2 to the other side and then dividing the -6x and -2 by 3 to get the y by itself.

A bowl contains blueberries and strawberries there are a total of 20 bares in the bowl the ratio blueberries to strawberries is
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

16 blueberries and 4 strawberries

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A bowl contains blueberries and strawberries there are a total of 20 berries in the bowl.

The ratio blueberries to strawberries is 4 to 1

Question asked:

How many of each berry are in the bowl ?

Solution:

Ratio of blueberries and strawberries = 4 : 1

Let ratio be x

Number of  blueberries in the bowl = 4x

Number of strawberries in the bowl = 1x=x

As total berries in the bowl are 20 and the bowl contains both blueberries and strawberries in the ratio 4 : 1 :-

4x+x=20\\5x=20\\

Dividing both sides by 5

x=4

Number of strawberries in the bowl = x = 4

Number of  blueberries in the bowl = 4x = 4\times4=16

Thus, there are 16 blueberries and 4 strawberries in the bowl.

A stone dropped from a bridge strikes the water 2.2 s later. How high is the bridge above thewater
mina [271]
Since you are giving no information whatsoever, the formula could be:

S = (1/2)g.t², where s is the distance, 9 =9.8 m/s² and t = time
S = (1/2).(9.8)(2.2)² ans S= 23.7 meters

The ribbon was 3 1/4 inches wide and had an area of 19 1/2 square inches. What is the length of the ribbon? Please Help Will Giv
miv72 [106K]
Hello!

The formula for finding area is l × w

If the area is 19 ½ inches and it was 3 ¼ inches wide, then the length will be 19 ½ ÷ 3 ¼ (Area ÷ Width)

19  \frac{1}{2} \div 3  \frac{1}{4}

Change both to improper fraction

19  \frac{1}{2} =   \frac{39}{2}

3  \frac{1}{4} =  \frac{13}{4}

\frac{39}{2} \div  \frac{13}{4}

Keep 39/2
Change ÷ to ×
Flip 13/4 = 4/13

\frac{39}{2} \times  \frac{4}{13} =  \frac{156}{26} = 6

\framebox {The length of the ribbon is 6 inches}

If the legs of an isosceles right triangle have a length of ft, the hypotenuse will have a length of?
lesya [120]
Isoceleese means then that 2 sides are equal
right triangle so the legs are equal

a^2+b^2=c^2
the legs aer a and b
in isocoleese, a=b
a^2+a^2=c^2
2a^2=c^2
if isocoleese=a then c=?
solve for c
sqrt both sides
a√2=c

if the legs are x feet, then the hyppotonuse is x√2 feet
