How do you answer this for a elimination simulatoneons equation

First you multiply both equations by 5 and 3
Then you take away both the equations form one another
Next you divide by 4 to get y on its own
This gives you y - which is 4

Then you choose one equation from your question. I chose 3x + 2y = 14 because it looks easier
Input your y value (that you just worked out before) into the y on this equation
Get x on its own by minusing 8 then dividing by 3
This gives you x - which is 2

Ive put a picture incase you still do not understand

\it 3x+2y=14
\\
5x-2y=18
\\
------\\
8x \ \ \ \ \ \ \ =32 \Rightarrow x = 32:8\Rightarrow x=4 \ \ \ (*)

\it 3x+2y=14 \stackrel{(*)}{\Longrightarrow} 3\cdot4+2y=14 \Rightarrow 12+2y=14 \Rightarrow 2y=14-12\Rightarrow
\\\;\\
\Rightarrow 2y=2 \Rightarrow y=2:2 \Rightarrow y=1

Therefore, the solution is:  x = 4,  y=1.

At the end of a party, 3/4 cup of dip is left. Jim divides 4/7 of the leftover dip equally between 2 friends. How much dip does
Vesnalui [34]

Answer:

First, we need to find the amount of dip that was divided amount the two friends.

We know that it is 4/7 of the left dip

therefore:

amount divided among the two friends = (4/7) x (3/4) = 3/7 of the original amount of dip.

This amount is divided among two friends,

therefore:

amount that each friend gets = (3/7) / (2) = 3/14 = 0.2 of the amount of dip

tell me if this is completely wrong because i'm not good at this

Right trapezoid WXYZ is shown. Right trapezoid W X Y Z is shown. Sides X Y and W Z are parallel. Angle W is 73 degrees and angle
Sladkaya [172]

Answer:

∠WXY = 107°

Step-by-step explanation:

In a trapezoid, adjacent angles are supplementary, meaning they add up to 180°. ∠W and ∠WXY are adjacent, so they are supplementary. 180° - 73° = 107°.

Another way to do this is to know that there are 360° in a trapezoid. This is a right trapezoid, so two of the angles are 90°. One angle is 73°. 90° + 90° + 73° = 253°. 360° - 253° = 107°.

I hope this helps :))
