Hemoglobin is the protein that transports oxygen in mammals. Different species of mammals have slightly different forms of hemog

lobin. One form of hemoglobin is 0.324% Fe by mass, and each hemoglobin molecule contains four iron atoms. Calculate the molar mass of this form of hemoglobin. Make sure to include units of g/mol. Enter your answer in Scientific notation with three significant figures. The Scientific notation for 2 x 10-4 would be written as 2E-4.

Answer:

The correct answer is - 6.8950.61 gm per mole

Explanation:

Given:

One form of hemoglobin is 0.324% Fe by mass

1 hemoglobin = 4 Fe

Solution:

Molar Mass of iron = 55.85

mass of 4 iron atom = 55.85 * 4 = 223.4 gms

0.324 % correspond to 223.4 gms

100 % correspond to = 223.4 *100/0.324

= 68950.61 gm

MM of haemoglobin = 68950.61 gms = 6.8 E4 gms

You splice DNA fragments from a "foreign" source into the patient's gene so that the gene will begin manufacturing the enzyme. T
Arada [10]

Answer:

recombinant DNA

Explanation:

In molecular biology, recombinant DNA molecules are genetic sequences formed by combining DNA material from different sources (i.e., organisms, populations, species, etc). Proteins produced from DNA recombinant molecules are known as recombinant proteins. Molecular cloning is the most widely used technique in molecular biology in order to produce recombinant DNA molecules. In this technique, a cloning vector such as, for example, a plasmid of a bacterium, is used to insert a foreign DNA fragment into another cell which is then expressed in the host cell.

Occasionally a child is born with an extra chromosome 13, but never do you see a child with an extra chromosome 12, why?
Morgarella [4.7K]

This is because some of the trisomies (one extra chromosome, three instead of two) are fatal, births cannot survive.

Theoretically, trisomies can occur with any chromosome, but often result in miscarriage.

The types of autosomal trisomy that survive to birth in humans are:

Trisomy 8 or Warkany syndrome 2

Trisomy 9

Trisomy 13 or Patau syndrome

Trisomy 18 or Edwards syndrom

Trisomy 21 or Down syndrome.
