-10x-6y=0 -4x -6y=54 find the solution of this system of equations
ad-work [718]

You can see that the term -6y appears in both equations. In this cases, we can leverage this peculiarity and subtract the two equations to get rid of the repeated term. So, if we subtract the first equation from the second, we have

(-4x -6y) - (-10x-6y) = 54-0 \iff 6x = 54 \iff x = 9

Now that we know the value of x, we can substitute in any of the equation to deduce the value of y: if we use the first equation, for example, we have

-10x-6y=0 \iff -10\cdot 9 - 6y = 0 \iff -90-6y=0 \iff 6y = -90 \iff y = -15

Notice the dependent and independent variables. X axis is usually the independent while y is the dependent. The dependent variable is affected by the independent one. Ravi is driving at a constant speed, which one looks like it is not changing in any direction whatsoever? But, Ravi is speeding up, so which one is adding the speeding (moving up) part of Ravi's driving? And finally, what graph also showcases the visual of Ravi slowing down after he was driving at a constant speed and then speeding up (hint: straight, up, down)?

The rectangular prism is made of 8 cubes and has and edge length of 1/2 in, what is the volume
sashaice [31]
Hello!

To find the volume of the prism you first have to find the volume of a cube

To do this you use the equation

V =  a^{3}

V is volume
a is side length

Put in the values you know

V =  \frac{1}{2}^{3}

Solve

V = 0.125

Now to find the volume of the prism you multiply the volume of one cube by the amount of cubes in the prism

0.125 * 8 = 1

The answer is 1 cubic inch

Hope this helps!

The set of points W(4, 4), X(6, 2), Y(-8, 16) are collinear and the line has a slope of ____.
Anton [14]

Answer: -1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: The set of points W(4, 4), X(6, 2), Y(-8, 16) are collinear

The slope of a line passing through points (a,b) and (c,d) is given by :-

m=\frac{d-b}{c-a}

Now, the slope of line passing through W(4, 4), X(6, 2) is given by :-

m=\frac{6-4}{2-4}=\frac{2}{-2}=-1

Hence, the slope of line passing through W(4, 4), X(6, 2), Y(-8, 16) =-1
