Answer:

The simplest form, as a fraction is:

\frac{61}{20}

Step-by-step explanation:

Though being quite a large amount, this is actually its number, here is why:

3.05 turned into a fraction would look like a mixed fraction:

3\frac{5}{100}

It is \frac{5}{100} because 0.05 is also 5 hundredths.

And 3 is 3.00 because it is a whole number.

Now, you need to reduce or simplify the \frac{5}{100} into:

\frac{5}{100} = \frac{1}{20}

The reason it is \frac{1}{20} is because:

\frac{5}{100}

Both the numerator (top of fraction) and denominator (bottom of fraction) can both be divided by 5, which gives you your total of:

\frac{1}{20}

Now, you are left with:

3\frac{1}{20}

But since we are looking for the most simplest fractional form, and not the mixed form, we will need to turn this into a improper fraction.

Which will look like:

\frac{61}{20}

This is how I turned it from a mixed fraction into a improper fraction:

3\frac{1}{20}

(First, multiply 3 by the denominator, which is 20)

3 · 20

= 60

You will now add 1 to 60 and get a sum of:

60 + 1

= 61

(The reason you want to multiply 20 and 3, is because if you have the whole of a denominator, for example:

\frac{20}{20}

it will equal 1, in this case:

if we have 3:

\frac{20}{20} \frac{20}{20} \frac{20}{20}

Then our whole number will be 60 for our numerator and it will look like:

\frac{60}{20}  =  3

3\frac{1}{20} = \frac{61}{20}

These are actually the same, just in different fractional forms.

From here we will check if we can make

\frac{61}{20}  and more simplified...

I have checked that this is most simplest form, so your answer is:

\frac{61}{20}

Hope that helps!

The area of a trapezoid field is 480 square m. The distance between two parallel sides is 15 m and one of the parallel sides is
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

44m

Step-by-step explanation:

area  of a trapezoid = (a+b)* h/2

since the distance between two parallel sides is 15, that would be your height

plug everything in and you get:

480 = (20 + b) *15/2

b = 44
