The United States wanted to follow the League of Nations that the US created after World War 1. They did not want to break their promise. They joined the war for two reasons, though:
- The Lusitania incident. When the Germans killed 1,000 people on a boat, this was one factor to why the US joined.
- The Zimmermann Telegram. When the United States heard Germany sent a telegram to wage war against the United States, it was game over. A few weeks later, Congress declared war.
Answer:
They attempted to keep their schools segregated.
Explanation:
The Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka was a landmark litigation or court case between Oliver Brown and the Board of Education in which the justices of the Supreme Court unanimously ruled (9-0) in 1954 that racially segregating children in public schools was unconstitutional because it violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment (14th) of the Constitution of the United States of America.
Meanwhile, on the 4th of September, 1957, the first day of resumption of class activities at Central High School, the Governor of Arkansas, Orval Eugene Faubus invited the Arkansas National Guard to block all African-Americans (black) students from entering into the school.
Hence, the states with segregated school systems responded to the Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Education by attempting to keep their schools segregated.

MY MOST EXCITING DAY IN SCHOOL
The most exciting day in my school life was when I was selected among other students to represent my school in a cultural dance competition. I attended Jesus Jesus Hominum Salvator college, it is a mixture of both girls and boys college.
Furthermore, during the selection process for those that will be chosen to form the cultural group, I was very tense because I really want to be selected. I love dancing from my childhood days and when any opportunity presents itself to me, I love to utilize it.We were told to audition that same day and my name was among the 20 student selected to form the cultural group. when i saw my name on the list of those selected, i literally leaped for jump and was super-excited.Rehearsal started that same day and an external dance tutor was invited to teach us several moves of the native “medaka” dance.
I was very excited and happy because I learnt a lot of great and wonderful moves and had a nice time with my fellow student. It is a day I will never forget in a hurry.
