Vertical angles are angles that share a common vertex

and whose sides form opposite rays.

In the image attached, I have drawn vertical angles.

Notice that the sides of the vertical angles 1 and 2 are the

opposite rays XA and XB and the opposite rays XC and XD.

Angles AXD and BXC would also be vertical angles.

Also note that when 2 lines intersect, they will

always form 2 pairs of vertical angles.

Please help how to find the value of x and find the length of segment AD, the value is 5 I just need to show my work.
alexdok [17]

Answer:

9. x = 5

10. AD = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

As shown in the diagram, BD is a perpendicular bisector. And D is a point on the perpendicular bisector, meaning it is equidistant from the endpoints on the segment(points A and C). Because of this, we can say AD = CD.

We can substitute to get:

2x - 3 = x + 2

And simplify and solve:

x - 3 = 2

x = 5

AD is just 2x - 3, so we can substitute in x to find AD:

AD = 2(5) -3

AD = 10 - 3

AD = 7

What that two numbers when multiplied give 600 and when added give 59
ozzi

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the 2 numbers be x and y

From the problem we have that

x * y = 600 and x + y = 59

From x + y = 59 -> x = 59 - y

Plug x = 59 - y to x * y = 600 we have

(59 - y) * y = 600

-> 59y - y^2 = 600

-> -y^2 + 59y - 600 = 0

-> y = (59 - \sqrt{1081})/2 or (59 + \sqrt{1081})/2

Then we could plug the answers in and find x because x = 59 - y

The owner of a local farm sells baskets of fresh tomatoes in the summer time. Each basket is priced according to its mass rounde
elixir [45]

Answer:

4 1/10 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the total mass, we add the mass of the three baskets

1 1/10 + 1 3/10 + 1 7/10

Since they have the same denominator

1 1/10

1 3/10

1 7/10

-------------

3 11/10

Change the improper fraction to a mixed number

11/10 = 1 1/10

3 + 1 1/10

4 1/10

a right triangle is removed from a rectangle to create the shaded region shown below. find the area of the shaded region. be sur
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

36

Step-by-step explanation:

Objective: Find missing dimensions of the right triangle using the then subtract that area of the triangle from the rectangle's area.

Using the definition of a rectangle, the left vertical side measure is 7 and right vertical side is 6. So the missing legs of the triangle is 4 and 3.

Apply triangle formula, base x height divided by 2.

\frac{4 \times 3}{2} = 6

Area of rectangle is length x width so the area is

7 \times 6 = 42

Subtract 6 from 42.

42 - 6 = 36
