The daily dose for a patient that weighs 170 pounds is 510 milligrams.

60 milligrams/ 20 pounds = x milligrams/ 170 pounds cross multiply

10200= 20x divide by 20 on both sides

x= 510 milligrams

you would have to do 170/20 which equals 8.5 multiply that by 8

so his daily does would be 510 milligrams

The Institute of Education Sciences measures the high school dropout rate as the percentage of 16- through 24-year-olds who are
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

We conclude that the proportion of dropouts has changed from the historical value of 0.081.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that in 2009, the high school dropout rate was 8.1%. A polling company recently took a survey of 1000 people between the ages of 16 and 24 and found 6.5% of them are high school dropouts.

The polling company would like to determine whether the proportion of dropouts has changed from the historical value of 0.081.

<em>Let p = proportion of school dropouts rate</em>

SO, <u>Null Hypothesis,</u> H_0 : p = 0.081   {means that the proportion of dropouts has not changed from the historical value of 0.081}

<u>Alternate Hypothesis</u>, H_A : p \neq 0.081   {means that the proportion of dropouts has changed from the historical value of 0.081}

The test statistics that will be used here is <u>One-sample z proportion statistics</u>;

             T.S.  = \frac{\hat p-p}{{\sqrt{\frac{\hat p(1-\hat p)}{n} } } } }  ~ N(0,1)

where, \hat p  = sample proportion of high school dropout rate = 6.5%

            n = sample of people = 1000

So, <u><em>test statistics</em></u>  =   \frac{0.065-0.081}{{\sqrt{\frac{0.065(1-0.065)}{1000} } } } }

                               =  -2.05

<u>Also, P-value is given by the following formula;</u>

         P-value = P(Z < -2.05) = 1 - P(Z \leq 2.05)

                                              = 1 - 0.97982 = <u>0.0202</u> or 2.02%

<em>Now at 5% significance level, the z table gives critical values between -1.96 and 1.96 for two-tailed test. Since our test statistics does not lies within the range of critical values of z so we have sufficient evidence to reject our null hypothesis as it will fall in the rejection region.</em>

Therefore, we conclude that the proportion of dropouts has changed from the historical value of 0.081.

Just answer plz its 20 points
Deffense [45]

Answer:

x=14.5

Step-by-step explanation:

since we know the sum of a triangles interior angles equal 180, we can subtract 66 from 180

180-66=114

6x-8+2x+6=114 - combine like terms

8x-2=114 - add 2 to both sides

8x=116 - divide by 8

x=14.5

angle a= 79

angle n=35

A number when divided by 780 gives remainder 38 .What
baherus [9]

Given:

A number when divided by 780 gives remainder 38.

To find:

The reminder that would be obtained by dividing same number by 26.

Solution:

According to Euclis' division algorithm,

a=bq+r                ...(i)

Where, q is quotient and 0\leq r is the remainder.

It is given that a number when divided by 780 gives remainder 38.

Substituting b=780,\ r=38 in (i), we get

a=(780)q+38

So, given number is in the form of 780q+38, where q is an integer.

On dividing 780q+38 by 26, we get

\dfrac{780q+38}{26}=\dfrac{780q}{26}+\dfrac{38}{26}

\dfrac{780q+38}{26}=30q+\dfrac{26+12}{26}

\dfrac{780q+38}{26}=30q+\dfrac{26}{26}+\dfrac{12}{26}

\dfrac{780q+38}{26}=30q+1+\dfrac{12}{26}

Since q is an integer, therefore (30q+1) is also an integer but \dfrac{12}{26} is not an integer. Here 26 is divisor and 12 is remainder.

Therefore, the required remainder is 12.

Akio found 18 cents in his pocket. He found 6 more coins in his pocket. Altogether he has 73 cents. What were the 6 coins he fou
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

1 quarter, 1 dime, and 4 nickels

Step-by-step explanation:

First you subtract the 18 cents that were found in the pocket from the total amount of 73 cents to get the total amount of the 6 other coins:

73-18=55.

So the total amount of the 6 coins equals 55 cents.

The quarter = 25 cents

The dime = 10 cents

The 4 nickels =  5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 20

1 quarter, 1 dime, and 4 nickels add up to the necessary total of 6 coins and when you add up the total cents of the quarter, dime, and nickels, 25 + 10 + 20 it comes to the sum of 55, which is how much the 6 coins are worth in total.

So therefore, the answer is 1 quarter, 1 dime, and 4 nickels.
